Prevention & Rehabilitation Exercises
– Acupuncture has been practiced in Asia and elsewhere
for thousands of years. It is based on the insertion of very
fine needs into certain points on the body to stimulate the
flow of natural healing energy. Best known for its effectiveness
in pain control, it is also used to treat many common disorders
such as sinusitis, headaches, menstrual disorders and tendonitis
to name a few.
Medicine – Chiropractic Medicine is
a natural, drug-free, non-surgical form of primary health
care. Doctors of Chiropractic Medicine make careful physical
evaluations and diagnoses and provide patients with a broad
range of treatment. Chiropractic care may include the manipulation
and mobilization of the spine and other joints. Additionally,
other interventions may be employed including acupuncture,
physiotherapy modalities, nutritional counseling, etc.
Therapy – Soft Tissue Therapy can be
an important part of health and wellness. Benefits include
improved circulation, joint mobility, and pain relief. Quality
Life Center offers a variety of Soft Tissue techniques including
Deep Tissue Massage, Guasha, Esalan, CranioSacral Therapy,
– Your feet are your foundation. If the arches of the
feet are not properly supported, widespread postural imbalances
may develop to compensate for this lack of support. Spinal
Pelvic Stabilizers help restore structural and functional
balance and help keep the body stable as you stand, walk or
run. Dr. Steve Yingling offers Foot Levelers custom orthotics
at Quality Life Center.
Modalities – These types of therapies
are commonly used in the treatment of many patients experiencing
back, neck, arthritis and other musculoskeletal problems.
Stimulation - Muscle stimulation therapy administers
gentle electrical pulses to specific areas of the body in
order to stimulate motor nerves to cause muscle contractions,
pain relief and/or to reduce inflammation.
- Ultrasound therapy uses high energy sound waves to reduce
muscle and joint pain. When these high energy sound waves
are released from the head of an ultrasound machine and applied
to soft tissues and joints, they facilitate increased blood
flow and decreased swelling, pain, stiffness and spasms.
Ice and Heat Therapy - Depending
upon the severity of your condition, both ice and heat can
reduce pain or the inflammation of injured tissues. Cold therapy
is often the best immediate treatment for recent injuries.
It helps reduce swelling and control pain immediately. Unlike
cold therapy, heat therapy is generally used for those with
chronic pain from previous injuries. Heat therapy not only
reduces the patients' pain, but it also relaxes the sore,
stiff muscles and/or joints and increases circulation.
– Kinesio Tape is a non-restrictive method of taping
which allows for full range of motion. It is applied over
muscles to reduce pain and inflammation, relax overused tired
muscles, and to support muscles in movement on a 24hr/day
basis. Kinesio Tape is used for a variety of painful muscle
and joint conditions.
Counseling – Nutrition is an important
component to optimal health and wellness. Nutritional services
include a consultation to evaluate current nutritional status
and follow up appointments to assess progress. Dr. Yingling
can provide patients with example meal plans and supplement
recommendations. He offers a full line of pharmaceutical grade
supplements from Pure Encapsulations. Pure Encapsulation products
are standardized, 3rd party tested, and contain no hidden
fillers, coatings, artificial colors or other excipients that
would disrupt or diminish the bioavailability of the ingredients.
& Rehabilitation Exercises - Therapeutic
exercises and stretching compliment your chiropractic treatments
and speed up your body's healing process. When prescribed
along with manipulation or other chiropractic care, these
exercises can reduce pain, protect against new or recurring
injuries, prevent muscle deterioration and promote strength,
stability and range of motion.
Esalen is a nurturing massage that encompassed the body, mind,
and spirit. Its signature strokes are long, flowing and continuous
to emphasize the connectedness of the body.
– Rolfing Structural Integration is a system of body
education that focuses on the body’s connective tissue
system. Rolfing seeks to bring the body into its most efficient
relationship with gravity.
